Always hard to compare managers as there will always have been different situations they had to deal with. Different amounts of money to spend, different squads, different teams played (so with different squads). The only thing I see the same in this comparison is the amount of games played - everything else is different.

Of course personal bias as to who you prefer will also always come into it.

It's scewed anyway, Pardew only had 55 Premier matches, and BFS has had 98.

BFS is on course to better Pardew in the Premier this season, and did better than him in the Championship.

Balders- and Allardyce didn't have to rebuild the club that he came to, which had just been relegated without so much as a whimper, in 20th place?

I actually think Allardyce had a bigger rebuild to do. Yes he spent more, but players cost much more comparatively these days. Pardew hardly worked on an utter shoestring.

I think both managers have done a good job (until the wheels fell off for Pards- his fault?) and it's simply a cue of personality as to why one remains popular and one has never been.

Some people are so anti BFS that they would make a case for Avram being a better manager.

Pardew made some excellent buys but we laboured during our time in the Championship. He is fondly remembered (rightly) for the Cup Final but his ego got in the way of what could have been a great long term gig for him.

Pardew really had to rebuild the club from the bottom up

BFS had more backing finically than Pardew could ever had wished for the first year we went down

So that should be taken into consideration , plus he got us in the cup final

Any manager who can stay in a Premiership job for as long as Pardew and Allardyce have, is doing something right.

Strange to think that Allardyce is the second longest serving Premiership manager behind Wenger.

If Allardyce had Mascherano in the squad would he still play Nolan as Pardew did with with Mullins? That's the acid test...

Pardew had a season more in the Championship but was pretty much break even on the transfer front. Allardyce on the other hand has had unmatched spending power!
